Mumbai: Air India has taken two pilots of its Shanghai-bound flight from Mumbai off duty following a near-miss incident involving a Kolkata-bound Jet Airways flight at the Mumbai airport on Sunday.
“Air India has de-rostered both the pilots pending inquiry,” an Air India spokesperson said here on Monday. “It is a normal practice after any such incident. This will enable the two pilots to be available for the inquiry.”
The State-run carrier’s action came after a preliminary probe by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation gave a clean chit to the Jet Airways pilot.
