Vasco: A hundred and seventy passengers flying SpiceJet had a miraculous escape on Tuesday when a bird hit the plane while landing at Dabolim.
AAI officials said the bird hit the nose wheel of the aircraft’s landing gear. All passengers emerged from the aircraft shaken, but safe. They said it was the pilot’s able handling of the aircraft that saved them.
The plane, which had arrived from Ahmedabad via Mumbai around 1.20pm, was left stranded at the western end of the runway, delaying the landings of seven other flights. It took engineers and technicians about 30 minutes to tow the aircraft away.
