Air India, which has been all but run to the ground by a series of poor and questionable decisions, has stopped distributing The Times of India and The Economic Times on its flights in a fit of pique over what it sees as adverse reports about the way AI has been mismanaged. Passengers who asked for TOI and ET on AI flights on Wednesday were told there were no copies of either paper.
The airline, which has lost thousands of crores on account of decisions that smell wrong, has ostensibly pulled out TOI and ET as a cost-cutting measure! Incidentally, TOI is the world’s largest English newspaper and ET is the world’s second-largest English business daily.
