Passengers from Pune fly in sans screening

Chennai: Passengers who arrived by an early morning Pune-Chennai-Kolkata flight faced no hassles of questioning or screening to ascertain if they had symptoms of swine flu. They just walked out of the airport like any other day.
Though the city had not woken by then to hear the news of its first swine flu death, a family that came from Pune on the Indigo flight had taken precautions by wearing surgical masks before leaving home. Of course, there is a scarcity of masks in Pune and sellers have hiked the price to Rs 10 a piece, a passenger said. But at the Pune airport, they were surprised to find no facility for screening. They also found that not many passengers had taken the precaution to wear masks.
