Efforts on to decode CVR

Hyderabad: The officials are making all efforts to decode the conversation recorded in the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) of the ill-fated Bell 430 helicopter which crashed into Nallamala forest on September 2, killing Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
If it proves to be difficult to decode it in India, it would be sent to the United States.
The State-level Crisis Management Committee of the State Government, headed by Chief Secretary, today apprised Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy that the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) authorities had informed that the CVR was yet to be decoded and they are on the job. The CVR which was partly damaged was sent to the Indian company representatives. Some more experts will be arriving in Delhi from Chennai to examine the CVR and decode the contents.
The DGCA had pointed out that the CVR would be sent to USA, for decoding, if necessary. The CVR-38, solid state model was manufactured by universal Avionics Systems Corporation, TucSon- AZ, 85706, USA.
