Mumbai: The Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) arrested a 53-year-old Nigerian for trying to smuggle 910 grams of heroin out of the airport on Saturday.
The Nigerian, who is currently under detention, had concealed the drug inside the speakers of the music system he was carrying in his check-in baggage.
"We intercepted him at 6 am in the international terminal while he was on his way to board an Ethiopian airlines flight to Adis Ababa,'' Baljeet Singh Nunwal, additional commissioner, AIU, said.
"He will be produced in court on Monday.'' The drug is valued at Rs 3 lakh in India and would fetch around Rs 90 lakh in the international market.
