Mumbai: Preliminary investigation into fire in Air India Boeing 747-400 Riyadh-bound aircraft, certified as airworthy by DGCA two days before the incident, is likely to be completed in next couple of days.
"We have started our investigation into the incident and the preliminary findings are likely to be out over the next 2-3 days," a DGCA source said.
Besides DGCA, Air India has also set up a four-member committee to probe the causes of fire, which engulfed one of the aircraft's engines while taxiing for take-off at Mumbai airport yesterday.
Besides inspecting the grounded aircraft, the pilots, engineers, cabin-crew and technicians would be questioned.
