Karna, AP moves in aviation fuel for IAF choppers

New Delhi: With IAF choppers involved in rescue and relief operations in the flood-hit Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh facing problem of refuelling, both the states have moved in aviation fuel closer to the affected districts.
IAF choppers carrying out operations in the flood-hit areas are taking-off from Bangalore and have to fly long distances to reach far-flung areas and were facing difficulties in going back to their bases for refuelling, Defence Ministry officials said.
Realising the difficulty faced by the IAF, the state governments have moved ATF tankers closer to the affected areas so that the choppers were not required to go back to their base for refuelling, they said.
