It's a Diwali spoiler for over 40 passengers of Air India flight IC-7602 as they were left stranded at Vizag for 24 hours after their flight developed a technical snag during take-off on Wednesday.
The flight, which heads to New Delhi, developed a technical snag twice. Following which, Air India could not even provide a replacement aircraft. The passengers were offloaded twice and finally in the evening told to return at noon the next day.
The flight originates in Chennai and has a stop at Vizag. Only passengers, who boarded from Chennai, were provided accommodation.
Latest reports suggest that some passengers are at the airport and some have been accommodated at a hotel. The passengers were on Friday (October 16) asked to fly to Hyderabad, which irked many of the stranded passengers. However, sources within Air India said that these passengers will board a flight to New Delhi from Hyderabad. But the stranded passengers have not heard any official word from the officials yet.
Air India had earlier said that a replacement aircraft is not possible because there are only two CRJ aircraft and it cannot be sent. However, it was an ordeal for the passengers stranded.
