Praful breathes life into Sambra airport

Belgaum: Civil aviation minister Praful Patel has promised resumption of air services at Sambra airport, 13 km from Belgaum, within three months. He was speaking after launching QuEST Global SEZ here on Saturday.
The state government has agreed to the civil aviation department's request for 300 acres of land for expanding and upgrading the airport.
Civil aircraft had stopped landing at the airport from June citing poor patronage. Kingfisher Airlines was operating a flight between Belgaum and Bangalore, and Air Deccan from Belgaum to Mumbai and Bangalore.
