Pune: Amal Makwana (26), who lives in Narangi Baug on Boat Club Road lost Rs 20,000 when conmen used his credit card details to purchase three air tickets online.
Now, Makwana, who works as a manager in an IT company lodged a First Information Report (FIR) with the Bund Garden police station.
Two Jet Airway tickets for a flight from Delhi to Mumbai were purchased by a Mohammed Jameer Khan and his wife. The other ticket was a Kingfisher Airline ticket that was purchased by one Naseer Sheikh for a Mumbai to Delhi flight.
“It was clear that somehow my credit card details were misused. I also informed Jet Airways and Kingfisher Airlines and lodged a complaint with the police,” he added.
Assistant police inspector, S L Dubal, who is investigating the case, said, “We are investigating the case and trying to find out how Makwana’s credit card details were misused.”
Makwana added, “Jet Airways and Kingfisher claimed to have cancelled tickets of the Sheikh and Khan families. Jet Airways has also sent me a mail regarding that. Kingfisher has not sent me any mail. They informed me verbally that the flight tickets have been cancelled.”
