A minor damage was caused by the loader vehicle to the cargo door of the aircraft in which the Prime Minister was scheduled to travel today.
As a measure of abundant precaution, the standby aircraft has now been used for the Prime Minister's journey.
The Minister for Civil Aviation Shri Praful Patel and the CMD of Air India were personally present at the airport to see-off the PM, who has now proceeded on his journey after a delay of approximately two hours.
Enquiry has been ordered into the incident by both the Director General of Civil Aviation and Air India. The driver of the loader vehicle has been suspended.
