Facebook photos morphed to target air-hostesses

In the first case of misuse of Facebook in the city, a youth downloaded photos of two Delhi-based airhostesses from their accounts at the social networking site and sent morphed obscene versions to their friends and colleagues.
According to the police, he used another networking site, Orkut, to circulate the photos and posted them on a blog as well. The culprit, a resident of Rohini, has been traced and can be arrested anytime. The victims, employees of Jet Airways, said: “We are shattered and our images have been tarnished by this person.”
The pictures were e-mailed to the women’s friends list in their Orkut accounts too.
The Special Cell is waiting for IP address details from Facebook and other websites, so the timing of posting the pictures and other details can be obtained.
The women, residents of Delhi and in their early 20s, have been working as air hostesses in the In-flight Department in Jet Airways since 2005 at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport.
The police have arranged to delete the profiles. “Investigations revealed that a young acquaintance of the girls had morphed their pictures,” a senior officer said. “We will get to know his motive only after the arrest.”
