Fog at IGI: 13 flights cancelled, 25 were rescheduled

New Delhi After a day’s break, low visibility conditions with dense fog disrupted flight schedules at the IGI Airport on Tuesday.
Thirteen flights were cancelled, while 25 domestic and international flights had to be rescheduled, airport officials said. At least 50 others were delayed by two to three hours through the day.
An airport official said dense fog started forming around 11 pm on Monday. As runway visibility reduced, airport authorities implemented low visibility procedures (LVP) that lasted 11 hours and 49 minutes. According to airport operator DIAL, a total of 195 flights operated during LVP.
The visibility dropped to a low of 150 metres, leading to diversions of a Jet Airways flight from Singapore to Mumbai and a Jetlite flight from Bangalore to Ahmedabad.
