Mangalore: Several organizations based in Saudi Arabia under the leadership of Amaco group of companies have made a strong pitch for a direct flight from the coastal city to Saudi Arabia. The company through its newly launched portal www.coastaldigest.com, the franchisee of Mangalore team in Mangalore Premier League T20 cricket event, is hopeful of collective efforts back home and here in this regard.
Mohammad Asif, director of Amaco group of companies told reporters here on Monday that Indian residents in Saudi Arabia, especially from coastal and South Karnataka and even Kerala have been seriously pursuing the cause of a direct flight to Saudi Arabia for the last three-years. "The legitimate claims of people of this part of the state for a direct flight have been ignored for long, and we are pursuing this vigorously," he noted.
The consortium of organizations backing this cause recently called on the MINISTERS POSITIVE Union minister for civil aviation Praful Patel and Union law minister M Veerappa Moily, Asif said, adding that both these ministers have given positive assurances to their request in this regard. "Praful Patel has assured to take up our memorandum positively with authorities of Air India Express who have to take the initiative in this regard," he noted.
