1 held for hoax bomb call to airline

New Delhi: A bomb threat on an Indigo Airlines flight from Delhi to Bangalore triggered a security alert at the Delhi and Bengaluru International Airports on Friday. The call, received around 11.30 am, turned out to be a hoax. Officials of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) said the call was traced to a mobile phone, which had been diverted. The caller demanded to talk to a certain girl. On being refused by the airlines’ staff, he claimed there was a bomb on board, BCAS officials said. They added the caller turned up at the airport around 3 pm, and was detained and later arrested. The Central Industrial Security Force and Delhi Police officers, however, refuted these reports.
