Haryana CM objects to Punjab's claim over Chandigarh International airport

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda has taken a strong exception to the move of the Punjab Government to mention Chandigarh International Airport as Mohali International Airport in some advertisements got published by it in leading newspapers recently.
In a statement issued here Thursday, the Chief Minister reminded that this created a false impression. He said that when during the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the new integrated domestic terminal building at the Chandigarh airport in 2008 the MoU was signed by Punjab, Haryana and Union Civil Aviation Ministry to set up an international airport, it was decided then and there that it would be named after Chandigarh and not Mohali.
Hooda also reminded that the then Union Civil Aviation Minister, Mr Praful Patel, Punjab Chief Minister , Mr Parkash Singh Badal and Chairman, Airport Authority of India (AAI), Mr K. Ramalingam were present on the occasion.
He said that this move of Punjab Government is totally against the facts and in gross violation of the official position between Government of India (AAI), Government of Haryana and Government of Punjab.
