Kingfisher scare: Passengers stranded for more than 5 hours

Mumbai: Actor Celina Jaitley was left shocked after receiving a text message from her mother who was flying to Lucknow on Thursday.
The actor’s mother was one of the 179 passengers on board a Mumbai-Lucknow Kingfisher flight that aborted take-off because of a bomb hoax.
The text message read: “They are deplaning all of us in a hurry. There is something wrong with the flight.”
“And, then I didn’t hear from her for about 25 minutes. It was scary,” said Jaitley.
The actor’s mother was visiting her home in her native town Lucknow to meet her son, an army officer on a short vacation. The Kingfisher flight was held up owing to a call made a hoax caller, who identified himself as Shoaib. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) control room received the call at about 4.30 pm — minutes before the Lucknow-bound flight was to take off. The flight was delayed by more than 5 hours at it finally took of at 10.19 pm.
At about 9.30 pm, the security agency cleared the flight for take off but all the cargo was left behind as a precaution. The city airport has been receiving many such hoax calls in the past few months.
