Panaji: The superintendent of police, special branch, Mr Atmaram Deshpande on Monday said the Goa police have alerted all the international airports besides police stations and check-posts along the Goa borders and issued a lookout circular against the former tourism minister, Mr Francisco Xavier Pacheco for remaining elusive for the third day in connection with the Nadia death case.
Addressing a press conference on Monday evening at the conference hall of the Goa police headquarters, Mr Deshpande said since Mr Pacheco still remains untraceable after his first interrogation for nine hours the police have alerted all the international airports.
Mr Pacheco has been in the eye of the storm after the death of his woman friend, Nadia Torrado and is wanted by the CID (crime branch) for further interrogation in the case.
Informing that Mr Pacheco has not applied for an anticipatory bail so far, Mr Deshpande said, “We are still on the hunt for the NCP legislator Francisco Pacheco alias Mickky for interrogation by the crime branch sleuths.”
On Nadia’s autopsy report being prepared by a Chennai forensic lab, he said that they have been apprised of the report contents over the phone, but the SP refused to divulge the details saying that unless and until they get a hard copy of the report they would refrain from commenting on it.
