In a decision approved by the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation, any passenger boarding a domestic flight will have to pay Rs 150, whereas international passengers departing from Rajasansi will have to pay Rs 910 as the User Development Fee.
The Airport Authority of India has informed about the decision to the various airlines operating from Amritsar.
There are six domestic flights daily operating from Amritsar to New Delhi daily, whereas there are various flights connecting the holy city to Europe, Canada, USA, Middle-East and other key destinations.
This charge has been levied at various airports across the country earlier, but the passengers, who are already buying hefty tickets, have not welcomed this fee.
