Chandigarh: Bad weather threw a Go-Air flight from Mumbai off course after it had to be diverted to Amritsar on Monday morning. The aircraft finally landed in the city around 2pm when skies cleared and conditions improved, close to three hours behind schedule.
Chandigarh airport director Sunil Dutt said the flight was redirected to Amritsar due to low visibility.
Sources claimed the arrival time of the flight was 11.20am. Before being diverted to Amritsar, the plane was in the sky for close to 45 minutes. It landed in the Holy City around 12.30pm and took off for Chandigarh at 1.15pm, finally reaching here around 2.10pm. The delay caused inconvenience to passengers, who were not allowed to alight in Amritsar.
Those who had reached the city airport to receive the passengers were also a harassed lot due to the three-hour wait.
