Rs7.56 crore disbursed among Mangalore crash victims' kin: Air India

Mumbai: Air India today said it has so far disbursed as interim relief Rs7.56 crore among 84 families of the deceased as well as the injured in the Managlore plane crash, which claimed 158 lives.
"As on date, we have disbursed Rs7.56 crore to the survivors and families of the victims of Air India Express IX-812 crash in Mangalore on May 22," an Air India spokesperson said here.
The airline had announced an interim compensation of Rs10 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased and Rs5 lakh for the families of those below 12 years.
Air India had announced Rs2 lakh as interim compensation for the injured.
"On May 28 and 29, Air India disbursed interim relief of Rs4.82 crore among 54 families including those of the 8 survivors. Yesterday, an ex gratia of Rs1.82 crore was handed over to 20 families, including a survivor," the spokesperson said.
The airline today disbursed Rs92 lakh to 10 families including a survivor, taking the total relief amount to Rs7.56-crore, he said. Besides, Rs 57 lakh from the Prime Minister's Relief Fund has been distributed among 28 families of the victims and two survivors in last two days, Air India said.
