Mangalore: The second phase of disbursement of interim relief to the families of the deceased air crash passengers and the injured ones began in the city on Thursday June 3. Senior lawyers from Mulla and Mulla, legal advisors to Air India, and senior officials of Air India, arrived in the city on Thursday to start disposing off claims relating to the interim relief.
The victims were divided into two groups, and the first batch of 60 were asked to be present at the camp on Thursday, while the others have been told to come to the camp on Friday. Till 10 pm on Thursday, 13 claims were settled, and Rs 1.12 crore was disbursed. Settlement of claims continued till late night. Wherever the documents are not sufficient, the team is guiding the families on the procedural requirement relating to claims.
