Mangalore: The Kerala Association of Travel Agents has cautioned relatives of the victims of the Air India air crash to be wary of NGOs, lawyers and well-wishers offering their services promising higher compensation packages from airline and insurance companies.
A release from N A Sulaiman, vice-president of the association, stated that it had come to their notice that some unscrupulous elements have gone to the extent of forcing relatives to sign on documents without explaining procedures.
"For these services, the firms charge a hefty 30% of the compensation that they promise to deliver," he said cautioning relatives to be cautious before dealing with such agencies.
