Mangalore: Out of the 108 persons from Karnataka who were killed in the ill-fated Air India Express IX-812 flight, only 31 families have approached the district administration to claim the Chief Minister's Relief as on Saturday.
Each family of the deceased would get a compensation of Rs 2 lakh. So far, a sum of Rs 62 lakh has been distributed among the family members.
According to a press release, the compensation can be claimed by producing all the related documents at DC's office. The original documents will have to be attested by the Regional Commissioner, Mysore. However, the state government has given the authority to attest the death certificate, post mortem report and other documents to the Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada till August 4.
