Pune: The Airports Authority of India, Pune, has called upon air passengers flying out of Pune to ensure that they reach the airport at least two hours before their scheduled departure time for completing the check-in formalities. This is in view of the heightened security measures that have been put in place till August 20, ahead of the Independence Day.
In a press release issued here, the AAI has stated that due to increased checking of vehicles, registered baggage and cabin baggage, between August 10 and 20, early reporting at the airport will ensure that the outgoing passengers catch their flights in time, despite all the additional security checks.
The AAI has further appealed to all departing and arriving passengers to avoid bringing any guests or visitors to the airport to see them off or receive them as the sale of visitors' entry tickets has been banned from August 6 to 20.
Passengers are also instructed to ensure that they do not carry any security restricted items in their baggage, owing to safety reasons.
