Air traffic rises 14% in July

New Delhi: The robust aviation growth story has not allowed even the monsoon to wash away its post-slowdown comeback figures. The traditionally weak month of July saw 14% more domestic fliers this year with 41.6 lakh people taking to the skies over same period last year. The January-July period, on the other hand, saw a 20.7% growth with 299 lakh domestic fliers this year as opposed to 2009's figure of 247.5 lakh. This growth comes despite a dip in load factors that airlines witness in July.
