NACIL officers booked in multi-crore scandal

The CBI has booked four senior officials of the National Aviation Company of India Limited (NACIL) for a multi-crore scam.
Cases of fraud were registered against NACIL’s executive director (northern region) Vijay Paul and three retired officers — executive director Manjri Khurana, general manager (finance) RK Taneja and general manager (commercial) R Sahay.
CBI also booked four officials of Delhi-based Rao Tours and Travels in the case.
“NACIL, then Indian Airlines, had hired Rao Tours and Travels Private Limited as Passengers Sales Agent for the period from 2002 to 2006 and had granted them credit facilities for booking air tickets,” a senior CBI official said.
Later the ownership of the private company changed and the company started defaulting payments, but it continued to get credit facilities.
