New Delhi: Light showers on Monday and Tuesday exposed chinks in the construction of newly built Terminal 3 at the Indira Gandhi International Airport. According to sources, there were several complaints of the roof of the new hi-tech terminal leaking, affecting business at the busy terminal. Sources said continuous leakage forced Air India, the national carrier, to close down its counter at the departure terminal and move elsewhere to carry out its routine work. Sources added the problem was more severe near gate number one of the departure terminal where Delhi International Airport Limited, the agency developing and maintaining the new terminal, carrying out some construction work.
Air India officials added the counter remained closed for more than an hour. The airline had to close down another counter due to seepage. Airline officials said they their internal office in the area was affected by the seepage.
