Air travel gets tougher in Kashmir

Srinagar: One normally boards flights for its advantage over any other mode of transport for getting to travel destination quicker and comfortably. However, it is utterly at odds for the travelers boarding it from and to Srinagar, the summer capital of the Jammu and Kashmir.
“It is wholly inconveniencing at the Awantipora airport,” said Hilal Ahmad Turki, a traveler who arrived here from New Delhi couple of days back.
“We arrived at Awantipora in the morning and were kept waiting for several hours till other flights arrived,” said Turki.
“A tent has been erected in the Awantipora and travelers are made to wait unless all flights arrive,” another traveler, Bashir Ahmad said.
For the passengers traveling from Srinagar, the passengers are to arrive at least four hours before the departure time for the check-in counter closes three hours prior to the leaving of the flights.
