Close shave for air passengers

Patna: The passengers of the New-Delhi- Patna flight (IC-415) of the Indian Airlines had a miraculous escape on Thursday when the pilot aborted the landing at the last minute and took off again.
The flight was scheduled to land at Patna airport around 7.30 pm.
After safely aborting the landing, the plane hovered over the city for around 20 minutes before making a fresh landing from the Danapur side.
According to sources, flights usually land from the opposite direction of the wind. However, this flight apparently entered the approach funnel in the same direction in which the wind was blowing. That could be the reason why the pilot aborted the landing, they added.
