TIMES NOW crew managed enter Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA)premises with baggage without being checked by security.
The crew walked through the side entrance gate at the arrival terminal used by staff without being stopped, frisked or questioned. Past the corridor, past the private security guards, who don’t bother to check our bag or ask for an identity card (ID). The TIMES NOW crew managed to reach the 2nd floor terrace of the airport’s main building undetected. Once at the terrace we walk toward the tarmac’s end.
The Air Traffic Control (ATC) just 50 metres from where we are standing and shockingly just about 20 metres away from the aircraft on the tarmac. No questions asked, no checks done on us. The fact that it was so easy to walk in to the airport’s main building spend an hour inside and go undetected speaks of the gaping hole in the airport's security and come as a huge embarrassment. The Union Civil Aviation Minister is silent on this massive security lapse but questions are being raised.
