Vasco: The Jet Airways aircraft which was involved in an accident at the Dabolim airport on Tuesday afternoon, flew off to Mumbai for repairs on Wednesday, even as the driver of the IndiGo passenger coach was arrested and later released on bail.
Seen at the airport on Wednesday were SP (South) Allen de Sa, Mormugao DySP Mahesh Gaonkar and Vasco PI Braz Menezes. Airport authority sources said, "The police have intervened to rule out the possibility of any foul play in Tuesday's mishap."
They added that officials of the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had returned to Mumbai after conducting the inquiry.
Meanwhile, the driver of the passenger coach, Krishna Lamani was arrested by Vasco police late Tuesday night and was released on bail on Wednesday morning. Sources reiterated that he was not under the influence of alcohol when the incident occurred. The driver had told authorities and TOI that he had suffered a blackout.
