New Delhi: Jagjit Singh and his family had taken an Air India flight that was to fly out of Amritsar at 4.50am on Sunday and land in Delhi 45 minutes later. They were then to take a connecting flight from Delhi to London at 2.50 pm which was to land at Heathrow Airport at 6.55 pm IST. At 7 pm, however, he and 53 other passengers of the Air India flight were still stranded outside T3 terminal at IGI Airport — completely clueless about when they would board the next flight to London.
According to the passengers, they were given no explanation for the delays and were made to wait outside T3 for several hours without any food and water. Most of them were scared of losing their jobs if they did not get back to London on Monday morning.
An Air India official, claimed that the Amritsar to Delhi had been delayed due to operational reasons as a result of late incoming flights.
