New Delhi: Air India passengers virtually revolted at Delhi airport's Terminal 3 on Saturday afternoon taking over the announcement booth. The virtual mutiny came after three days of delayed flights, lost baggage and very sketchy information from Air India about flight schedules.
Ever since the transition began the airline saw 150 flights getting delayed and several cancellations.
The airline had entered into a ground handling pact with Singapore Airport Terminal Services (SATS) and a joint venture was formed for ground handling at several metro airports.
But Air India sources say SATS has failed and it does not even have the staff. An already bleeding Air India had to fly in over 100 employees from across the country and put them up in hotels to support the move to T3.
The situation is expected to get worse from Sunday when Jet Airways and Kingfisher shift to the new terminal.
