New Delhi: The trouble Air India is facing at Delhi's new terminal 3 (T3) averted a possible showdown between the airline's embattled CMD, Arvind Jadhav, and its directors. After the recent controversies in the airline, Jadhav had called a meeting — expected to be heated following the recent developments —with senior officers in Mumbai.
But the trouble at T3 led to aviation minister Praful Patel summoning Jadhav, who was in Bangalore, to Delhi. As a result, the CMD had to skip Mumbai and the meeting with the directorsmany of whom are upset with some decisions of the management—could not happen. Now the action, in all probability, will take place after Diwali. On Saturday , Jadhav will meet DGCA chief Nasim Zaidi, who is tipped to take over as aviation secretary on December 1. There have been complaints that some recent and expensive appointments like that of AI Express COO Pawan Arora and chief of training Stefan Sukumar have been made either in violation of DGCA rules or despite negative comments from the regulator.
