Ahmedabad: The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA) in the city has finally got the licence to continue its operations. The SVPIA had initiated the process to get its licence for operations renewed following a recent notification by the ministry of civil aviation.
The notification had asked 63 airports, including 53 run by Airport Authority of India (AAI), across the country to get their licences renewed before June next year.
"We got the required licence from the concerned authority (Director General of Civil Aviation-DGCA) around two weeks ago," said SVPIA director Anuj Agrawal.
To get the licence of operations renewed, an airport operator has to submit its report to the DGCA. According to officials, this report basically contains information related to operational parts of the airport.
