Flyer tries to find out who travelled on his ticket

Mumbai: If you thought that once you missed your flight, your ticket won’t be misused, especially when the airport is on high alert, think again.
Vivek Mahajan, 34, an executive with a private firm in Bangalore realised this on January 18 when somebody travelled on his Jet Airways Bangalore-Mumbai ticket. Mahajan was shocked, as the incident happened a week before Republic Day when the airports across the country were on high alert from January 15 to 31.
It has been more than 20 days and Mahajan is still stumped as to who travelled on his ticket. “I was in Hyderabad on the morning of January 18 and reached Bangalore in the afternoon. I had booked myself on Jet Airways Bangalore-Mumbai flight that was to depart at 6.45pm,” he said.
However, he erroneously booked himself on 6.30am flight and did not realise this till he reached the Bangalore International Airport Limited at 4.15pm. “It is then that I realised my mistake. I asked them to accommodate me on the next flight,” he said. “They told me that the ticket has been utilised by me in the morning.”
