India to Host Regional Aviation Security Conference

India is set to host the Regional Aviation Security Conference at New Delhi from 14-18 February, 2011 under the aegis of International Civil Aviation Organization(ICAO) to review the compliance of Security Declaration made in 37th Assembly of ICAO and also to have the risk overview of the recent developments in aviation security. The Conference is being organised by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India.
The main purpose of the New Delhi Conference is to review aviation security activities under way and planned by States as per the declaration since the conclusion of the 37th ICAO Assembly in October, 2010, consider these in light of the ICAO Declaration, and develop an Aviation Security Roadmap-a template that can be used by States to proactively and cooperatively counter and prevent acts of unlawful interference against international civil aviation. A key element of the Roadmap should be agreement on a plan to provide aviation security assistance to States.
The Secretary General ICAO alongwith the representatives from International Air Transport Association (IATA), Airports Council International(ACI), European Civil Aviation Conference(ECAC), TSA, Department of Transport, UK besides delegates from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal, Maldives, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia & Bhutan will be attending this conference. The representatives of the participating Contracting States will make presentations about their respective compliance of 37th Assembly ICAO Declaration of Aviation Security or any other issue related aviation security during the course of the Conference.
