AI constitutes panel to look into pay parity, other issues

Mumbai: National air-carrier Air India on Tuesday said its Board has decided to constitute an independent committee of experts to look into issues of pay parity and other related matters of employees of erstwhile Indian Airlines and Air India.
This was decided at Air India's Board meeting held here today, the airline said in a press release.
The independent committee will be headed by Justice (retd) D N Dharmadhikari.
Others in the committee are Prof R Dholakia of IIM, Ahmedabad, Rajeshwar Dayal and Syed Nasir Ali, the release said.
The committee will be based at Safdarjung Airport, New Delhi, and is expected to submit its report within five months, the release said.
An interim proposal is, however, likely to submitted to the Civil Aviation Ministry by the committee by March 31, an Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA) spokesperson said.
