Fear of pilots’ stir keeps passengers off Air India

Mumbai: Air India (AI) pilots may or may not go on strike, but passengers are not taking chances. Flyers are opting for other airlines. Many, who were already booked on AI, have also cancelled.
"The strike notice by pilots is already sparking fear among flyers. Those going on business trips do not want their flights to be cancelled at the last minute. To avoid inconvenience, people are opting for other carriers, even if they pay more," said Rajesh Rateria, MD, Cirrus Travels. "In some cases, people have cancelled their tickets too," he added. "Even though the strike will affect only domestic flights, people are sceptical," Rateria said.
Another tour operator, Pradip Lulla, director, Cupid Travels said that he too is booking on other airlines instead of AI. "Passengers are unsure about AI," he added.
