New Delhi: Opposition BJP jumped into the Air India pilot strike debate on Sunday, saying that the pilots were not at fault. Pointing fingers at the airline CMD Arvind Jadhav, BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy indicated that Jadhav seemed to enjoy the support of the PMO in his actions which had further worsened the condition of the national carrier.
"The CMD does not report to the aviation ministry. He has instead been reporting directly to someone in the PMO. I shall not name him. Therefore, my questions are aimed at the PMO which is de facto running this airline. AI's decline has been caused by various factors for which the pilots are not responsible," said Rudy.
Striking pilots have been asking for Jadhav's resignation on grounds of corruption and taking decisions that have gone against the airline.
