Still no AI flights to Delhi

Nagpur: Operations of national carrier Air India were yet to be normalised from city despite end of 10-day pilots' strike. The airline has stopped taking any booking for Nagpur-Delhi sector for the next seven days even as it opened bookings for Mumbai flights on Saturday. Local AI officials said they were not taking bookings as flights on this sector may not resume until next Sunday.
Sources said that suspension of both Air India and JetLite flights turned out to be a bonanza for other airlines. Both GoAir and Indigo flights are fully booked for next few days. Four airlines Air India (9.20am), JetLite (8.05am), GoAir (8.40pm) and Indigo (7.30am, 6.10pm) operate flights to New Delhi from Nagpur. JetLite has suspended its Delhi operations till May 12 for operational reasons.
The pilots' stir resulted in a loss of lakhs of rupees for the national carrier as it cancelled almost 28 of its operations from city. Now, to get back the passengers, AI has also announced lowest airfare of Rs 3053 for Mumbai until May 12.
Some AI flights from Nagpur were cancelled on Monday too. These include the ones to Delhi (IC-869) and Mumbai (IC-130) in the morning schedule.
