Dreamliner on maiden visit at IGI

New Delhi: Probably the most advanced aircraft in the world, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner made its debut in India on Wednesday when it landed at Delhi's IGI airport at 11.09am. The aircraft, which came in from Tokyo, was welcomed by a water cannon salute by airport management Delhi International Airport (P) Ltd (DIAL).
The Dreamliner will be stationed in Delhi till Monday morning after which it will fly to Mumbai and return the following day. Dinesh Keskar, president Boeing India, said: "Air India is one of the early customers and has ordered 27 787s. Jet Airways has also ordered 10 Dreamliners. We look forward to the airplane's introduction into the fleets of our valued customers in India."
The airplane will depart for Mumbai in the evening of July 15 and fly out on the morning of July 16. Air India staff will get hands-on training in the aircraft while it is stationed in Delhi.
