Kolkata: Around mid-July this year, Karan and Rajni Vasandani enjoyed a fairytale honeymoon in Bangkok and Pattaya. Yet, it is the bitter aftertaste of what happened at the fag end of the trip that lingers. "We were scheduled to do the pilgrimage before commencing regular life. But with the airline insisting that I had to report in person to collect the bag the next day, the trip had to be cancelled," he said.
However, the bag did not arrive the next day. and he returned disappointed.
It was no different on July 18, July 20 and July 28. After a month, on August 25, the airline offered a compensation of Rs 6,720 for the 'lost' bag. Six days later, on August 31, the airline revised the compensation amount to Rs 4,500.
"Initially, we were told that the weight of the bag was 7 kg. But in the written complaint, it was mentioned 5 kg. Hence, we revised the compensation," the airline official explained.
