Power failure disrupts flight ops at Lohegaon airport

Pune: Five flights were today delayed as the operations of Lohegaon airport near here remained affected for over two hours due to power failure, an official said.Due to snag in power supply, the Air Traffic Control (ATC) halted the air traffic between 4.30 pm and 7 pm, he said."We got notice from Defence ATC about power failure.Without power we could not function. After 7 pm the situation came under control. The Chennai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and another Delhi flight got delayed by few hours. During the power failure, only one Air India flight could be landed," a duty terminal manager said.Lohegaon airport, operated by the Airports Authority of India, shares its runway with Lohegaon Air Base.
