Security beefed up at CIAL

Nedumbassery: With the Kochi International Airport Ltd tightening security in the wake of national alert following the blast near Delhi High Court on Wednesday, the CISF, Police, Airlines security and other agencies operating in the airport swung into action to ensure fool-proof arrangements.
Immediately after the blast, a meeting of the Airport Security Committee was convened by airport Director A C K Nair. CISF Commandant Ajai Dahiya, CIAL Chief Security Officer Gowrisankar, Police personnel and Air India security officials participated in the meeting which evaluated the security arrangements.
The meeting decided to deploy additional CISF and police personnel in the airside and city side of the airport. Surveillance will be intensified and CCTV footages will be monitored round-the-clock closely.
The passengers and their baggage will be thoroughly checked. Frisking will be held at the entrance of the airport. Vehicles entering the airport premises will be inspected.
