SpiceJet flights from Mandakalli in Oct.

Mysore: The Mandakalli airport, enjoying good response from air travelers to and from the city ever since its inaugural in Sept. 2010, will soon be getting another airline in addition to the lone flight by Kingfisher Airlines, albeit after this Dasara, disclosed C. Manjunath, Director, Airport Authority of India (AAI).
He told SOM this morning that the SpiceJet will be introducing its flight from Mysore to Chennai, via Bangalore from October.
Though it was planned to commence the SpiceJet route before this Dasara, talks are still on with the government with regard to 11% fuel subsidy, a condition laid down by the airline operators for launching flights from Mandakalli airport.
However, Manjunath says that there has been very good response from flyers, especially from the industrial sector, with almost all the 72 seats of the Kingfisher ATR plane booked in advance. There is more demand from flyers on week days, he said.
