Grounded flight spoils fun

Ludhiana: Cancellation of Air India (AI) flight for three consecutive days - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday - has dampened the festive spirit of city residents. As, many of them could not take a flight to the city and were forced to rely on other means of transport. The lone flight from Delhi to city was cancelled due to "operational reasons''.
About the reasons, manager, Airport Authority of India, V P Jain said,"I was only informed about the cancellations, I do not know the reasons.'' Head manager of Air India at Sahnewal Airport Amrik Singh, however, said, "We had received a message from Delhi that flight will not come for three days because of operational reasons.''
The flight that lands at Sahnewal airport also goes to cities like Jabalpur, Kullu and Allahabad on alternate days and on these days, it gets delayed.
