Riyadh: nasair, the smart low cost carrier, is celebrating the first anniversary of its operations in Kerala. The airline launched its operations to Kerala in October 2010 by operating four flights between Saudi Arabia and Kozhikode Airport. Launched in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in February 2007, nasair has grown exponentially, transporting more than five million Customers. It is also a pioneering 'Smart Choice', serving Customers with over 450 weekly flights. The fleet consists of 15 aircraft covering 27 destinations both within and outside Saudi Arabia. Priced competitively, the fleet is considered the youngest in the region with Airbus A320s and Embrear E190s.
Owned by private aviation group, National Air Services (NAS Holding), nasair entered the low cost carrier market with a strong expansion strategy for India and consolidated its schedule to focus on flights from Kozhikode to Jeddah via Riyadh and Dammam, the three key domestic airports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, strengthening the ties between the two countries.
The number of Customers between Kozhikode and Saudi Arabia on nasair flights has increased rapidly, and the airline has been able to cater to the needs of its Customers by offering competitive fares, smart services and on-time performance.
